Amazing Dunbar Double Pedestal Desk by Edward Wormley for Dunbar, 1952

A nicely proportioned, full size double pedestal desk Model No.5245 in original finish bleached walnut on solid brass conical legs, The cut off walnut veneers demonstrates Dunbar’s adept ability to incorporate select grain patterns of wood to enhance its presented appearance from all four sides, in this instance, especially the front vanity panel. The large expanse of writing surface is augmented by two pull out shelves, a collapseable typewriter shelf in its left pedestal concealed by a door as well as four drawers in its right pedestal, one of which has angled slats for writing paper. It is marked with a green ‘Dunbar for Modern’ metal tag.
