An Impressive Art Deco Chrome and Glass Desk from France, 1930s

A superb and important desk of impressive scale and detail. The symmetrical arc form is comprised of plate, angle and tubular bronze material, with original worn chrome plating. The structure supports 3 slabs of original St. Gobain cast glass, these are smooth on top and have a sand cast textured bottom side. A single curved glass privacy panel is fixed on the front and the side panels are straight. The origin of this rare desk is The Institut George Eastman, Paris, 1937.
