Cocktail Tray Table by Hans J. Wegner for Johannes Hansen

A medium height table with a reversible, shaped edge, rectangular top of solid teak set on a solid oak base. This unit is a custom, unmarked variation from production models 562 and 564 varying in width (shorter), depth (deeper), and height (higher). Possibly a prototype developed for a furniture fair to gauge potential interest as a future production model. As a one-off displayed in a Wegner booth the absence of a stamped signature makes sense. Engineered to be KD, the stretcher is connected to the sides with a specialty brass bolt threading in to a receiving nut concealed within the stretcher allowing for easy disassembly as well as easy tightening if necessary over prolonged use. Its unusual dimensions make it ideal for higher seats or as a lamp or end table with uncommon dimensions.
