Zahara Schatz Brass Table Lamp by Zahara Schatz, 1951
The visor shaped shade is comprised of a unique, collage like technique of imbedding various diverse fragments of wire shapes and sandwiching them between laminated layers of plastic complimented by hand colored swirls. The shade is supported by a lasso shaped, winding run of solid tubular brass. This technique is believed to be unique to the work of Zahara Schatz as executed in the late 1940s to very early 1950s with this model marketed and sold by Raymor in 1951.
